This week, I came across a whole bunch of A-level artwork I didn't even know I still had! I'd been to fetch as much as I could carry back in 2009, when I was doing my Foundation Diploma, but it'd all gone straight on top of the wardrobe.
Well. Now, most of it has gone straight into the recycling bin - I only have a small room, and I'm ruthless - but not before I took several photos.
I'm actually still quite proud of the cow jumping over the moon, and I still love the cat painting, but holy crap, I hope I'm better at anatomy now!
Not a lot is really happening art-wise right now - a lot of my time during the week is taken up by my part-time position in an office. I actually really like most aspects of my job, so this isn't entirely a bad thing - but this has resulted in me pouncing on the prompts in Embodiiment and doing something artistic with them.
Last week, I retrieved some of my A-level artwork from my old sixth-form college. A lot of the stuff there I left behind, but I took most of my canvasses, a couple of sketchbooks and a few large paper sheets (also, my 3D cups-and-teapot piece). I expected to be there only for a few minutes but I stayed for a while just looking through all of my old art - most of which I hadn't seen in over a year, but it feels so much longer! The things I took home are on top of my wardrobe now (along with my Foundation portfolio) with the exception of my Spider canvas - that's hanging above my desk - and my teapot n' cups piece, which are on my window ledge.
That's really about it so far! As awesome as I find the Embodiment project, I am hoping to practise my artwork beyond this little book sometime this summer. (Maybe even get back into doing some digital work, as I haven't seemed to use my tablet in a while.)
I like the owl one the best, I think ... although I'm pleased with how Spider turned out. I won't talk too much about this in case I tempt fate or something.
Update three will probably come tomorrow when I can get a decent photo - I've been doing a little textile work.
*singsong* Hel-lo ag-ain. Oh mah Gawd, I hear you all say, what's with all the freakin' tags? You'll see, I've actually been very busy aside from the Fuuko digital artwork.
First subject: my Art exam.
So, I picked Animal Forms for my exam topic. To be honest ... the paper was a little strange. We get a choice of about 8 subjects to choose from, for our exam, and Animal Forms was the most popular. The other subjects most of us had already done earlier in the year.
I give to you some drawings from stock photos, as part of my prep-work. Tonight I hope to experiment with acrylic paints; I have an inked piece at college and several pencil drawings down. An oil-pastel piece wouldn't hurt, either.
I'll admit I used a bit of ink on the kitty drawing, but most of it was pencil.
Second in college artwork, I finally got photos of my Unit 6 final piece. Now, Unit 6 isn't something I've talked about much in here because most of it remains at college, but now I have some photos to show:
There's a few photos on my DA, too, it's my featured deviation. I call it the Nursery Rhyme Tea Set ... if I recall I still have to write some stuff up about Unit 6 on the 'nets.
In other arty stuff, Mother's Day in the UK was recently. For my mother, I did a portrait of her, and I have a speed-video to accompany it. It now hangs proudly on our dining-room wall (the portrait, that is, not the video):
Look, I figured out how to customise the YouTube player. *proud* I also suggest, if you're looking for additions to your music library, you listen to some of Enya's stuff. It's really relaxing, especially when you're doing art.
