My caricatures definitely still need polishing, but my lines and general skills are improving day by day. It's encouraging to see work I did last year, or even a few months ago, and see how it's changed - especially as this has been quite a challenging year so far. This is both a positive and negative thing - the positive is that I improve due to being pushed to work under pressure, and I buy myself nice illustrator-y things as rewards (like a subscription to MAD Magazine, a copy of Martin Rowson's Gulliver's Travels, along with Fuck: The Human Odyssey, and some good quality inks). F:THO hasn't arrived yet, but I got Gulliver a few days ago and wow. Definitely worth buying, even if you're not into political illustration, purely because of the detail and beauty of the artwork. I plan to do a review along with Martin Rowson's artist feature.
